Watch Matt Damon Roast Ben Affleck About Robert Pattinson's "Batman"

Nobody knows how to push their buttons like the people who have known you forever, and that goes for celebrities as well as us normal people. An example of this are longtime friends Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, who rarely miss the opportunity to (lovingly) make fun of each other. The actors learn about the iconic roles in a new video promoting a fundraiser they are running through charity site Omaze, benefiting the Eastern Affo Initiative (which Affleck co-founded) and water.org (which Damon co-founded) that the other played and then took over from someone else - including a certain superhero. Matt Damon toasts Ben Affleck about taking on Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne for the 2021 film The Batman in the clip, which may be this close, to learn what Affleck really thinks about it.
In the video message, Affleck interrupts Damon's pitch so people can donate to their Omaze fundraiser to win a lunch with the actors and tell him to spice it up. From then on, it's all about false and good-natured arguments about each other's careers. As a possible topic of conversation for the competition winner, Damon suggests, "Roles that we played that other people may have played to win." Affleck suggests they bring up their characters Jason Bourne and Batman. At this point Damon interrupts, "Robert Pattinson is coming?"
Affleck brings up Jeremy Renner, who starred in The Bourne Legacy in 2012, as the new lead character, Aaron Cross. "He expanded the Bourne universe," argues Damon. "He made it better," jokes Affleck.
"Pattinson has accepted your job," replies Damon.
The fun video could be a preview of what the competition winner and guest will experience while hanging out with the BFF actors. The official Omaze list includes a few more possible icebreakers: "When does Good Will Hunting 2 happen?" and 'Who would win in a duel?' "

Jay and Silent Bob strike back
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Okay, technically there's never been a Good Will Hunting 2, but in the 2001 Kevin Smith comedy, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Affleck and Damon play versions of themselves in which they play an action movie sequel to their Oscar shooting award-winning drama. "Think about the paycheck," whispers Damon Affleck before "action" is announced in a bloody bar scene for Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season. (By the way, the linked clip contains strong language!)

Nice men's club
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in the Handsome Men's Club sketch
Affleck and Damon both appear (along with John Krasinski, Taye Diggs, Patrick Dempsey, and other leading men) in a 2010 Jimmy Kimmel Live sketch in which the presenter is ousted from a secret society of handsome men. It's specifically Damon's revenge for a long-running gag in which Kimmel repeatedly said at the end of every show that he should be a guest but they were running out of time for him.

National Best Friends Day

A few years ago, Affleck celebrated National Best Friends Day by posting this vintage collage of Damon putting his face in a cake titled, "This guy." Only best friends are allowed to do stunts like this and get away with them - even on their birthdays.
And for celebs who might share their birthday, find out the biggest star who is just as old as you.

Your 2014 Omaze campaign
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck Omaze 2014
This isn't even the first time Affleck and Damon have tirelessly rattled each other for these special charities. Her video announcing the 2014 Omaze fundraiser is also shady. Affleck reminds Damon that his directorial work, Argo, is a Best Picture Winner, and Damon tells viewers that "Ben's left eye twitches every time you say the word Gigli."
