WATCH: Brooke Shields Wears a Red Swimsuit as She Creates a New Thanksgiving Tradition
Brooke Shields starts a new Thanksgiving tradition!
In an Instagram video shared on Thursday, the actress wore a red swimsuit as she plunged into a small pool that made her shiver.
"New Thanksgiving tradition? ❄️," wrote Shields, 56, in the video's caption.
Her friend, Ali Wentworth, commented: "You are supposed to cook the turkey, not yourself ..."
While Sophia Bush wrote: "Cold immersion !? LOVE."

Shields appeared to be doing well after recovering from a broken femur that later turned into a staph infection.
The actress told PEOPLE earlier this month that she was refusing to take pain medication during her recovery, fearing that she might rely on opioids like OxyContin or Vicodin.
"I didn't want to leave the hospital without pain, come home thinking I was going to die because the pain was excruciating," she said. "I thought, 'I'd rather be in excruciating pain in the hospital.'"
Shields also wanted to make sure that as she recovered she could tell the difference between the pain of her original injury and anything new that might emerge.
“[I wanted] to get used to it and understand what pain is and what further injuries are, because what happens when you start feeling pain you think you are hurt again, but you may not be hurt that much. Maybe it's just sore or in pain, "she said.

"I really wanted to understand what the pain it was because when you go and go home and feel pain, you really get scared," she added. "And at least I wanted to say, 'Oh, I've felt this pain before. Okay.' You don't feel like a victim of it. "
Shields is now excited about travel after recovery, sharing her vacation secrets with Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest while performing on Live with Kelly and Ryan.
She revealed that she and her husband Chris Henchy fly to their family's home every Christmas with a typical dish in their luggage.

"We'll take meat," said Shields. "My husband smokes his own brisket, he makes his own dry grater. And my family loves it the night before Christmas, so we go through security with those large pieces of meat [in our hand luggage]."
When asked by Ripa and Seacrest how they got it through airport screenings, Shields said, "We have to take it out, but it's wrapped in plastic wrap and aluminum foil."
"You all know," she said of the Transportation Security Administration staff. “They say, 'Did you bring the brisket? You brought the brisket with you! ' The TSA guys now know our chest piece. "
