Tom Bergeron Tweeted an Epic Response to a Fan About Why He Left 'Dancing With the Stars'
Last summer, Tom Bergeron retired from Dancing With the Stars after directing the ABC competitive series for 15 years. Although the former longtime host has moved on, some fans still haven't got over his sudden departure. Fortunately, Tom uses his signature sense of humor to remind her not to dwell in the past.
It all started when the 66-year-old TV personality retweeted an article (actually written by you) on Friday about a cryptically labeled Instagram he posted last week. From what we can say of said cryptic Instagram, the former host of America's Funniest Home Videos is busy working on a guest starring role for a new sitcom with NBC. After repeatedly teasing people about a new project in the works on social media for months, many couldn't help but “freak out” when they saw a photo that revealed more about his latest venture.
When Tom saw our story, he took the opportunity to make a play on words by quoting the late comedian Garry Shandling, who starred on the '90s parody sitcom The Larry Sanders Show. "In the immortal words of Larry Sanders, 'No turning around!"? "He tweeted.
Then several of his Twitter followers stopped by to share their own thoughts. Needless to say, there are a few who still miss Tom on Dancing With the Stars. With another wink emoji, Tom made a cheeky comment on why he and co-host Erin Andrews could no longer appear on the show.
"I'm still upset that you quit dancing, but I'll support you as best I can!" One fan wrote to Tom. Strangely, Tom replied, “Thanks, even though I had to go. Have you changed the locks? "
Meanwhile, others were excited to hear that Tom was going back to their little screens in some way. “DWTS is not the same place without you and your interactions with everyone there. I'm looking forward to seeing you again?. Said one person. “I would love to see it more than just a guest appearance on a sitcom. I would like to see more. I'm glad you got into acting, ”added another.
Tom and his longtime co-host Erin Andrews were fired prior to season 29 of Dancing With the Stars. ABC then replaced the duo with solo host Tyra Banks, who is also the series' executive producer. With Tyra at the helm of the series, the 30th season of Dancing With the Stars kicks off on September 20th.
