Tesla kills seven-day return policy

Back in February 2019, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, announced that the long-awaited $ 35,000 Model 3 is officially available to order (note that the currently cheapest Model 3 is currently available on the Tesla website is $ 37,990). At the same time, he revealed a right of return for seven days. As long as the car had less than 1,000 miles on the odometer, a buyer could return the car to Tesla at any time during the first week of ownership without asking questions. That is apparently no longer the case.
When you redirect your internet browser to www.tesla.com/support/tesla-return-policy you will be taken to the main support page instead of the page you expected, which describes an impressive and industry leading return policy. Electrek points out that the page used to have the following text:
“When you own a Tesla vehicle, you are driving one of the most advanced, best performing and safest vehicles on the market. We are confident that your new vehicle will make you feel great, so we're giving you time to experience and enjoy your new Tesla. Subject to the provisions of this Policy, you have seven (7) calendar days to return your Vehicle to us if you are unsatisfied with it. "
Apparently, customers who are dissatisfied with their new electric cars are now being referred to Tesla's service department. It's not clear how many owners took advantage of Tesla's formerly generous 7-day policy, but we do know that JD Power's most recent survey on initial quality put Tesla in last place. Either way, buyers can reportedly still refuse delivery of their new Tesla if it doesn't meet their standards.
