Yesterday, Tesla's Battery Day saw two magic numbers heeded: $ 100 per kilowatt hour and 1 million miles. Battery costs for electric vehicles (EVs) need to be reduced to around USD 100 per kWh in order to achieve cost parity with internal combustion engines. CEO Elon Musk promised the first and did not mention the second.
