RNC Backs Trump’s Bogus Claims That He Won the Election
After that week's bizarre press event where Rudy Giuliani made reference to the movie My Cousin Vinny while applying hair dye to his sweaty face, the Republican National Committee endorsed the wild statements made full of lies Giuliani during his press conference, falsely claiming, that Trump not only won the presidential election, but he did so in a "landslide".
The RNC left little doubt that the Republican Party had reached full MAGA when it released a video of Sidney Powell, a presidential lawyer, outraged to spread misinformation about electoral fraud.
Powell spoke as if she had the truth on her side - she doesn't - and spoke of patriotism while telling lies that could ultimately harm the nation.
“This is breathtaking, heartbreaking, annoying, and the most unpatriotic act I can imagine if people in this country have participated in any way, shape, or form. And I want the American public to know now that we're not going to be intimidated, ”Powell said.
“American patriots are fed up with corruption from the local level to the highest levels of our government. And we're going to take this country back. We won't be intimidated. We won't back down. We're going to clean up this mess, "Powell continued." President Trump won by landslide. We will prove it. And we will reclaim the United States of America for the people who vote for freedom. "
But neither Trump's campaign nor the Republican Party have presented any credible evidence of serious election fraud or irregularities.
Undeterred, the RNC continued its attempts to overturn the election on Saturday by sending a letter to the Board of State Canvassers in Michigan asking that certification be suspended so that there is time for an exam.
"To gloss over these irregularities now without a thorough examination would only increase the distrust of the voters in Michigan," said the letter, according to Politico.
These latest gadgets come after Trump's apparent attempt to harass Republican members of the Michigan Legislature fails. The President met with Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and House Speaker Lee Chatfield at the White House Friday. But Trump's fraud seemed to fall on deaf ears when both lawmakers concluded that they "had not yet been informed of any information that would alter the outcome".
Trump's enablers don't seem to care whether their dishonesty is obvious. Kayleigh McEnany proved it on Friday. During a briefing at the White House, the press secretary lied about the lack of a peaceful transfer of power from former President Obama to Trump in 2016. During the President's opening speech in January 2017, Trump thanked not only the former President and the Secretary of State. Michelle Obama, the first lady, for the way they handled the transition, Trump also stressed how helpful the two were, calling them "great".
