Packers elevate practice squad RB ahead of clash with Colts
The Green Bay Packers had to dive into the reserves of the training team with the Indianapolis Colts before the showdown on Sunday.
The Packers added Mike Weber to the training team's list of game days before traveling to Indianapolis on Saturday.
Matt LaFleur's offense requires the depth, with Tyler Ervin and an injury to A.J. Dillon is still on the COVID-19 reserve list. Dexter Williams is in an injured reserve.
Weber, a selection of the Dallas Cowboys from the sixth round in 2019, signed with the Packers training team on November 11th. He has spent some time on the Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs training teams but has not yet played in a regular season NFL game.
In the state of Ohio, Weber rushed for 2,676 yards and 24 touchdowns. He was the Big Ten Freshman of 2016.
In the NFL Scouting Combine, Weber ran the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds, hit 33.5 inches in the vertical jump, and did 22 reps on the bench press.
Weber will wear the number 38 on Sunday.
