New York City cancels all contracts with Trump Organization
New York City is severing its contracts with the eponymous company from President Donald Trump, a move that could cost the outgoing president millions of dollars in response to his role in inciting the Capitol uprising.
The city will announce to the Trump Organization that it will terminate its agreements to operate the Central Park Carousel, Wollman and Lasker Ice Rinks, and Ferry Point Golf Course in the Bronx.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city was acting under a clause allowing contracts to be terminated in the event of criminal activity.

"The president instigated a rebellion against the United States government that killed five people and threatened to derail the constitutional delegation," said de Blasio. "The city of New York is in no way associated with these unforgivable acts and we are taking immediate steps to terminate all Trump Organization contracts."

"He has dishonored New York City by his actions," added the mayor.
The city's management advisor said the contract with the Ferry Point Golf Course was being terminated as the deal was based on the expectation that the course would attract a major golf tournament, which is now unlikely after the PGA of America held their 2022 PGA championship from Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ, over the weekend.

When Trump ran for presidency and later drove a plan to rebuild national infrastructure, he extolled his success in taking over the helm from Wollman Rink as an example of his business acumen.
"When I built the Wollman ice rink, it was seven years they couldn't build it. It would have been forever, they couldn't have it built, and I made it at a much cheaper price in a few months "Trump said in 2018." We did it for a tiny fraction of the cost. "

Eric Trump, the son of the president and executive vice president of the Trump Organization, said the company will challenge the city's decision to terminate the contracts.
"The City of New York has no legal right to terminate our contracts, and if they choose to continue, they owe the Trump Organization more than $ 30 million," said Eric Trump. "This is nothing more than political discrimination and we plan to fight vigorously."
