Lady Gaga Fans Go Gaga for Inauguration Performance – and ‘Hunger Games’-Style Look
The reactions to Lady Gaga's national anthem performance at the inauguration on Wednesday were numerous and positive. Observers joked about the superstar himself being sworn in as president, while others noted that her ensemble resembled something Katniss Everdeen might have worn on the Hunger Games series.
Not only did fans have "Hunger Games" comparisons, they also said that some of the shots of Gaga in silhouette looked like stills from a movie. Others noted that her melisma at the end of the tune reminded them of Whitney Houston. The singer wore a drop-waist dress and used a gold microphone to play the "Stars and Stripes". She was commended by those who said the drama was a fitting end to President Donald Trump's outgoing administration.
Wearing a custom Schiaparelli dress and brooch titled "Dove of Peace," Gaga made fans feel patriotic and inspired others to share side-by-side recordings of their early days in the industry with her debut on the inaugural stage.

After she finished the song, the newly sworn in Vice President Kamala Harris was heard saying, "Have a nice initiation."
Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, took to the stage at 11:30 a.m. to welcome Biden. She is one of several stars to appear at the event, including pop icon Jennifer Lopez and country singer Garth Brooks.
Gaga said in a pre-inaugural tweet, “I am honored to sing our national anthem for the American people. I will sing during a ceremony, a transition, a moment of change - between POTUS 45 and 46. This is very important to me, ”she said. “My intention is to acknowledge our past, heal for our present, and be passionate about a future in which we will work together lovingly. I will sing to the hearts of all people who live in this land. "
