She says that due to the pandemic, she's still taking "baby steps" when it comes to socializing.

said Jennifer Aniston when she appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Earlier this month that she will not be attending the Emmys on Sunday because she is still taking "baby steps" when it comes to socializing amid the global coronavirus pandemic.
Aniston starred as Rachel Green on 10 seasons of the hit sitcom Friends. The series' reunion show, Friends: The Reunion, which aired earlier this year, has been nominated for four Emmy Awards, including an outstanding director for a variety special.

While the Reunion Show failed to win three of the awards announced at the Creative Arts Emmys Ceremonies last weekend, the final category, Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), will be announced on Sunday.
The "Friends" star, who appeared on Kimmel's Show Monday, said appearing on the late-night show was a "big step" for her when asked about the Emmy.

She said that Ben Winston, the producer and director of Friends: The Reunion, will attend the event instead.
"It's a big step for me to just be here," Aniston said, adding, "I'm taking baby steps."
It makes sense, especially since last month, the 52-year-old actress told InStyle that she's excluding from her life friends who refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
"I just lost a few people in my weekly routine who refused or did not reveal themselves [if they were vaccinated] and it was unfortunate," said Aniston.
Metro reported back in July that the Television Academy issued a statement saying that live awards ceremonies "only have a limited audience of nominees and their guests" and that all participants "must provide proof of vaccination in order to be admitted."
After announcing that Friends: The Reunion was nominated for four Emmys, the Friends cast shared praise for director Winston on social media.
Aniston wrote on her Instagram story: “Congratulations to my @friends family on four Emmy nominations. This has been such a special reunion for us and we couldn't be happier to share it all with you @mrbenwinston who made it all possible. You are brilliant and WE LOVE YOU! "
