India’s historic stock market boom is worrying its central bank

Indian stock markets are so out of line with the real economy that the country's central bank is now concerned. On Jan. 11, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said the "divide" between economic development and stock market developments had recently intensified and now posed "risks to the country's financial stability". The observation was part of it of the annual financial stability report of the RBI (pdf).
