Explosions rock Russian military base in Crimea

Plumes of smoke billowed from Saki airbase in Russian-controlled Crimea on Tuesday after multiple explosions rocked the military fort and surrounding communities. Russian officials say the blast was caused by "the detonation of multiple aviation ammunition caches," but there is widespread speculation that the Ukrainian military is responsible. Crimea was annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014 and remains under Kremlin control.
