Maria Grazia Chiuri's designs for Dior are characterized by tailored silhouettes, elaborate embroidery and fine fabrics. However, the creative director's personal style is much more reserved. When many in quarantine changed their dressing habits, their wardrobe stayed the same.
"Lockdown didn't significantly affect the way I dress, as I've always preferred practical and comfortable clothes, from jeans to cashmere sweaters," she told BAZAAR.com.

This idea of comfort dressing is the basis of Dior Chez Moi, the first collection in the company's history to be exclusively dedicated to loungewear. The range consists of items ideal for days indoors: pajama sets, ponchos, bathrobes and a few bikini tops and bottoms in case you venture out onto your deck to sunbathe. The shoes - slides, sneakers and flat ankle boots - also match the cozy atmosphere.
Nevertheless, Chiuri made sure that the collection was provided with fantasy motifs, which are characteristic of Dior. In addition to revising the brand's typical Toile de Jouy pattern, she commissioned the Roman artist Pietro Ruffo to design prints with constellations, the world map and natural elements. The results are playful and chic and stay true to the dreamy aesthetics of Chiuri and Dior. They are poured onto loungewear and are perfect for life in quarantine. But they remain indispensable even after this difficult time.

“The Dior Chez Moi collection fulfills our need for elegance and comfort in these unprecedented times,” says Chiuri. "I tried to create this line to guide us in this new context in which so much of our social interactions have been replaced by time spent at home."
