"This is usually where I drop the date card. The reason I don't have your date card is because of a personal story. I'm going to resign for a few days and take my son to college," Chris told Tayshia Adams' contestants. "But I'm not going to leave you empty-handed. I've brought some help for this week. She's a very, very dear friend of Tayshia and she's also one of the greatest success stories in Bachelorette history. So I'd love you guys Introduce JoJo. "
Looks like Chris' break from filming went pretty smoothly according to The Bachelorette, but IRL? Not as much. There were a couple !!!!! News around Chris' trip due to the expectation that he will have to be quarantined upon his return - which would mean that he could potentially be gone for the rest of the season.
A Us Weekly source made it clear that Chris Harrison was pissed off at the time, saying, "Chris wasn't happy that they were going to quarantine him for two weeks out of work in Palm Springs. He insisted he just let his son go Settled in his dorm and left, social distancing all the time. "
Even Reality Steve got involved:
The show eventually discussed "different options" and decided to reconsider the situation after Chris was tested for Covid-19. He was later spotted back on set so think it all worked out!
