Chadwick Boseman's wife seeks to administer estate of 'Black Panther' star, who died with no will

The wife of "Black Panther" star Chadwick Boseman wants to be appointed administrator of the estate of her beloved actor, who died in August at the age of 43.
Boseman, who died on August 28 after a four-year battle with colon cancer, died without will with an estate estimated to be worth $ 938,500. That is clear from filings filed in the Los Angeles County Probate Court on Thursday and received by the US TODAY.
Some assets are not necessarily subject to probate audits, so Boseman's holdings could be greater than this amount.
On the court records, Boseman's wife, Simone Ledward (named Taylor Simone Ledward in the documents under her legal name) asked to be appointed administrator with limited authority over the actor's estate.
Chadwick Boseman, who brought T'Challa to life in "Black Panther," died of colon cancer at the age of 43.
In addition to Ledward, his parents, Leroy and Carolyn Boseman of Belton, S. C., who are also listed in the newspapers, survive Boseman.
Boseman's family, including Ledward, were by his side when he died at his Los Angeles home.
According to People, Boseman and Ledward got engaged in 2019 and their last public appearance together was at the NBA All-Star Game in Chicago in February.
He paid tribute to her during a acceptance speech at the NAACP Image Awards 2019. "Simone, you are with me every day. I have to acknowledge you now. I love you." Ledward gave him a kiss and mouthed the words back: "I love you."

The director of "Black Panther", Ryan Coogler, singled out Ledward in a touching homage to Boseman after his death.
He opened his message with his feelings: "Before I share my thoughts on the death of the great Chadwick Boseman, I would first like to express my condolences to his family, who meant so much to him, especially his wife Simone."
Boseman is best known for the Oscar-nominated blockbuster "Black Panther," in which he played the title character. However, his impressive list of credits also includes starring roles in "42", "Get on Up" and "Marshall". "" He appeared in Spike Lee's "Da Five Bloods" earlier this year.
