Broken nose among injuries Calvin Kattar sustained in UFC on ABC 1 loss
ABU DHABI - Calvin Kattar definitely had to be fixed after losing to Max Holloway at UFC on ABC 1.
Kattar's (22-5 MMA, 6-3 UFC) main event fight with former featherweight champion Holloway (22-6 MMA, 18-6 UFC) did not go according to plan on Saturday at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Badly beaten over the course of five rounds towards a unanimous decision defeat, he absorbed the most significant hits of anyone in a single bout in UFC history.
UFC President Dana White said immediately after the headliner that he had informed his staff to send Kattar to the hospital as soon as possible so that his injuries could be investigated.

Kattar's manager and head coach, Tyson Chartier of the New England Cartel, told MMA Junkie on Sunday that the fighter had a broken nose in the fight and also needed eight clips in the scalp to close the wounds that Holloway's relentless offense opened would have.
The defeat for Kattar earned him a winning streak in two fights. There is no schedule for when he will be released to return to the field, but it is likely that a medical suspension is in sight.
