Bethenny Frankel Responds to Erika Jayne's Comment on Her Late Boyfriend Dennis Shields
Bethenny Frankel has a message for a certain real housewife across the coast.
The Bravo alum took to Twitter on May 19 to respond to comments made by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Erika Jayne on the previous night's show Watch What Happens Live. There, host Andy Cohen asked Erika if, prior to the embezzlement scandal surrounding her estranged husband Tom Girardi, she had ever heard rumors that he owed people money.
Erika has always maintained that she had no prior knowledge of Tom's alleged crimes and financial woes, while Bethenny, on the other hand, claimed to have known long before Tom and his law firm started making headlines. During a September 2021 episode of her Just B With Bethenny Frankel Podcast, Bethenny revealed that her late ex-fiancé Dennis Shields once said Tom owed him "half a million dollars" and that Tom "uses people's money," to support Erika's lifestyle.
Andy admitted at the Season 11 RHOBH reunion - and again at WWHL on May 18 - that he had heard similar whispers from Bethenny in the past, hence the question to Erika. He never mentioned Dennis, but while Erika gave her answer, he did.

“In Tom's business, which was contingency fees, it's not uncommon to borrow. While that may be true, there were also loans that actually got repaid," Erika said of the rumors that Tom - who now denies Health - owed people money. "I don't know where Bethenny is from. Her husband is dead and my husband is in a home so whatever. But at the same time, that's how business works.”
That comment clearly didn't sit well with Bethenny, who will be making her own appearance on Watch What Happens Live on May 19. However, as she revealed in her tweet, the episode was pre-taped, so don't expect to hear her reply to what Erika said.
Bethenny told her followers: "I'm not going to address the comment that you and Dennis' children are hurt, offended and disgusted by. I appreciate your loyalty, your heart and your compassion.”
Dennis, who was a father of four, died of an apparent drug overdose in August 2018. Since his death, the 51-year-old's cause of death has been ruled "undetermined" by New York coroners.

Bethenny has paid tribute to her long-dead boyfriend on several occasions, including the one-year anniversary of his death in 2019. "One year ago today I woke up to a beautiful sunny day with @biggysmallz by the pool and my world collapsed and became instant upside down," she began an emotional post on Instagram, alongside a photo of Dennis sitting with her two dogs. "A man, Dennis, whom I loved and respected, who was in my life for 30 years, passed away unexpectedly."
The tragedy, Bethenny added, made her "a different person" and put her in a "different emotional place."
"The wounds have started to heal," she said, "but the scar will stay in my heart forever."
E! News reached out to representatives for Bethenny and Erika for comment and has received no response.
