Alex Trebek Was Cremated, His Wife Jean Will Be Keeping His Ashes at Their Home
Alex Trebek may be gone, but his wife Jean will always keep him close to her heart.
After the danger! Trebek, the host's death certificate received from The Blast, was cremated and his 30-year-old wife was able to take his ashes home with her. His final resting place is listed on the certificate as Studio City, California.
The beloved television icon died on November 8th at the age of 80 from stage four pancreatic cancer that he had battled for 22 months.
Days after her husband's death, Jean shared a quick message with fans thanking them for their support during this difficult time. "My family and I sincerely thank you all for your compassionate messages and your generosity," she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the couple on their wedding day.
"Your facial expressions really touched our hearts. Thank you," she continued. "Many blessings to everyone, Jean Trebek."

Reflecting on his decades-long relationship with Jean in January, the television icon said to PEOPLE, "I'm pretty happy with my life."
"But my wife Jean and I have been together for almost 29 years and I thought of President Bush when he died and all the comments about his life about what a nice guy he is and how he and his wife were together for 73 years . I thought, oh my god ... if I had only met Jean in my 20s we could have had a longer life together, "said Trebek.
