Bentley is expanding the Flying Spur luxury sedan with its 4.0-liter V8 with two turbochargers.
The twin-turbo V-8 develops 542 hp and 569 lb-ft of torque.
Orders are now open and the V-8 Flying Spur will arrive in the US early next year.
Bentley is now offering its V-8 engine with two turbochargers, which is also available in the Continental GT, in the Flying Spur luxury sedan as a lighter and cheaper alternative to the existing W-12 model. The UK automaker says it is adding the more driver-centric powertrain because customers are actually moving around in their flying spurs instead of driving around in them.

The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 develops 542 horsepower and 569 lb-ft of torque, and Bentley claims a zero to 60 mph start in 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 198 mph. During the car and driver tests, the 626 hp Flying Spur with W-12 drive reached 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and crossed the quarter mile in 11.7 seconds at 121 mph. The V-8 will also be more economical. At light loads below 3000 rpm, four cylinders are deactivated by deactivating the cylinder in order to maximize fuel consumption.
When equipped with the V-8, the Flying Spur is 220 pounds lighter than the W-12 car, which weighed 5,560 pounds in our test, according to Bentley. It is equipped as standard with adaptive air suspension, torque vectoring, control of driving dynamics and electric steering. Bentley's active anti-roll technology is also available, as is all-wheel steering. You will be able to tell from the V-8 wing badge that it is a V-8 model. It also comes standard with 20-inch 10-spoke wheels and four exhaust tips.
The Bentley Flying Spur V-8 is built in Crewe, England. Orders are now possible. They will arrive in the US early next year.
